APLF Asean-2023: enterprises of the leather industry of Uzbekistan conclude mutually beneficial agreements

    The delegation of the Uzcharmsanoat Association and its member enterprises is taking part for the first time in the international exhibition APLF Asean-2023, which is being held in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. At this year's exposition, participants from more than 20 countries presented their products. At the event, which gathered more than five thousand visitors, our domestic enterprises conclude many profitable agreements.

    Within the framework of the exhibition, representatives of Uzcharmsanoat, local enterprises such as Pelle Technology and New Leather (Amin Bio) held talks with many foreign companies. In particular, such large companies as Chai Watana Tannery Group, Arun Shree International, Gobba Leather expressed great interest in the purchase of wet-blue and crust leather from our country. Following the dialogue, the head of Arun Shree International, Pulkit Magan, stressed the desire to visit Uzbekistan in November this year to explore the possibility of conducting these purchases.

    Also, shoe manufacturing companies San-One, Otto by Otta and Urban Hayot took part in a number of trainings, seminars and negotiations within the framework of the exhibition. San-One Company during the dialogue with Achiraya Rodsamayi and I.B.Leather Co. Reached an agreement on the creation of production of premium shoes made of exotic leather (crocodile, python, horse mackerel, etc.).

    In addition, during the exhibition, an exchange of views took place with associations of the leather industry of Indonesia, South Africa and Thailand, as well as qualified designers and promoters working in this field. In an interview with the Secretary General of the Indonesian Association of the Leather Industry, Arifin Kustiawan, the demand for wet-blue and crust leather was considered. Thus, it was noted that it is high in Indonesia, in connection with which an initiative was expressed to purchase leather goods from Uzbekistan. According to the contract, samples of products will be provided by our local enterprises.

    The issue of organizing a joint stand under the Made in Uzbekistan brand at the APLF exhibition in Hong Kong was considered.

    For reference: Thailand is a regional center for the export and import of leather and leather products for the countries of Southeast Asia. It is also the largest training address for designers in this field. APLF is considered an important communication platform in promoting its brand and developing international cooperation. Enterprises of the leather industry of Southeast Asian countries, such as Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, import leather worth more than 3-4 billion dollars a year. Therefore, establishing cooperation in this direction means opening a new export market for Uzbekistan.
