ASR discussed cooperation with McKinsey & Company

    A meeting with McKinsey & Company (USA) consulting company was held at the Agency for Strategic Reforms.

    It was attended by Director of the ASR Bahodir Rakhmatov, head of McKinsey in Central Asia Dulatbek Ikbayev, head of the public sector and tourism project Ayjana Distiyarova, head of the company's representative office in Uzbekistan Rustam Shanazarov, Deputy Director of the ASR Rustamkhon Azizov, as well as other experts.

    During the meeting, the Director of the ASR spoke in detail about the role of the Agency, especially in coordinating the activities of state bodies for the effective implementation of strategic objectives specified in Presidential Decree No. PP–109 dated 03/04/2024.

    The Company showed interest and expressed readiness to provide expert support and advice on issues stipulated by this presidential decree.

    At the same time, issues of improving the investment climate in Uzbekistan and using Chinese markets for the export of goods were discussed. Experts noted the trend of attracting Chinese tourists after the pandemic and the potential to attract anchor investors in tourism and other sectors of the economy.

    McKinsey & Company experts were presented with additional proposals for the implementation of the tariff–quality system, regional development, export restriction methods and banking sector reform.

    In order to establish practical cooperation in these areas, it was proposed to organize meetings between McKinsey experts and industry departments of Uzbekistan with the coordinating role of the ASR.
