According to the press secretary of the Supreme Court Aziz Abidov, ex-Minister of Agriculture Aziz Voitov is suspected of committing crimes under paragraph "a" of Part 3 of Article 167 (Embezzlement by appropriation or embezzlement committed on a particularly large scale) and paragraph "a" of part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Abuse of power or officials with the authority to cause particularly large damage), transfers UzNews.uz.
According to the decision of the Anabar District Court for Criminal Cases dated December 14, 2023, a preventive measure in the form of detention and placement in a pre-trial detention center was applied against the suspect.
Recall that in October of this year, Aziz Voitov was dismissed from the post of Minister of Agriculture. Prior to that, he worked as Deputy Minister Sardor Umurzakov at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.
