The 148th Assembly was organized as part of a general debate on the topic "Parliamentary diplomacy: building bridges of peace and mutual understanding." The main focus is on creating a platform for delegates to discuss a common topic and exchange ideas on strengthening the parliament's activities in this direction.

The Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, put forward important proposals and initiatives in her speech.

The Chairman of the Senate stressed that in the rapidly changing and difficult-to-predict international situation and the lack of mutual understanding in interstate relations, the role and relevance of parliaments of the world is increasing.

Fully supporting the conceptual principles of the Inter-Parliamentary Union aimed at strengthening parliamentary diplomacy, the emphasis is placed on priority areas that should be given special attention.

Thus, it was emphasized that parliamentary diplomacy, as a key mechanism for building trust between States, should play an important role in conflict prevention, and parliaments should actively protect the rights of vulnerable groups of the population.

The attention of the participants was drawn to the importance of regional cooperation, which contributes to the establishment of trusting relations between parliamentarians and the solution of common problems and tasks.
