The delegation of Uzbekistan participates in the meeting of senior officials of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

    A meeting of senior officials of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries began its work in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) today.

    The main purpose of the event is to prepare for an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the OIC, the news agency "Dunyo" reports.

    The agenda of the ministerial meeting includes issues of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, the search for ways to end it and humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people. This event is held on the initiative of Saudi Arabia.

    Speeches by OIC Secretary General Hussein Ibrahim Tahi, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Malki, as well as ministers and permanent representatives of the organization's member countries who arrived to participate in the event are expected at the ministerial meeting.

    Following the results of the event, it is planned to adopt a communique. The meeting is attended by the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Permanent Representative to the OIC, Ambassador Ulugbek Maksudov.
