Uzbek delegation participates in the second parliamentary conference on interfaith dialogue in Rome

    A delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Chairman of the Senate Committee on Science, Education and Health of the Oliy Majlis Bahrom Abdullayev is taking part in the 2nd conference of the Interparliamentary Union on Interfaith Dialogue, held in Rome (Italy).

    Parliamentarians, religious leaders, representatives of international organizations, civil society and youth from around the world are participating in this prestigious event.

    During the various thematic sessions and panel discussions held during the conference, practical solutions to reduce religious intolerance, interfaith conflicts and their negative consequences on a global scale were discussed.

    Thus, special attention is paid to historical and ethno-confessional conflicts between states, the introduction of mechanisms for sustainable interfaith dialogue in their resolution, the building of a peaceful and stable society through the formation of a culture of tolerance in religious matters, the active participation of young people in these processes, as well as the widespread promotion of a culture of tolerance and mutual understanding.

    A number of recommendations have also been put forward to mitigate religious contradictions around the world and create a global atmosphere of tolerance.
