Director of the CLT Shakhlo Turdikulova: "The booster dose of ZF-UZ-VAC2001 protects 100% from omicron

    Healthcare 10 January 2022 2000

On January 7 of this year, the omicron strain was detected in the laboratory of the Center for Advanced Technologies (CLT) under the Ministry of Innovative Development.

A new strain of coronavirus "omicron" was found in a foreign citizen who arrived in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan from Dubai. This fact, as well as measures to counteract the spread of omicron, were discussed at a meeting of the Republican Special Commission.

Commenting on the event, Deputy Minister of Innovative Development Shakhlo Turdikulova noted:

"Given the rapid spread of omicron around the world, its appearance in Uzbekistan was a matter of time. The good news is that the Uzbek-Chinese vaccine, the most popular in our country, demonstrates excellent results in relation to the new strain according to the results of the conducted studies. As the head of the Center for Advanced Technologies, actively participating in the ZF-UZ-VAC2001 trials and in the study of viral mutations, I can say that the booster dose of the drug protects against omicron by 100%. This is also confirmed by our colleagues from China."

At the meeting of the Special Commission, the issue of urgent acceleration of the vaccination rate of the population, including booster doses of ZF-UZ-VAC2001, was also discussed.
