    According to the draft document published for discussion, before a student can leave Uzbekistan for a foreign country, it is necessary to obtain the permission of the school principal.

    A draft order of the Minister of Preschool and School Education "On Amendments and Additions to the Regulation on the procedure for transferring students from class to class and from one general secondary educational institution to another" is posted on the portal for discussing draft normative legal acts.

    According to the draft, parents or legal representatives must apply to the school principal with a written statement during the school year, indicating the reasons for the child's departure abroad and the expected period of stay abroad.

    The principal of the school (or a person acting temporarily in the absence of the principal) considers the application within one working day and issues an order to inform the class teacher and subject teachers that the student is temporarily traveling abroad.

    The director is also obliged to notify the student's parents in writing, the chairman of the citizens' self-government body at the place of residence, the district/city department of preschool and school education and the commission on juvenile Affairs and take measures to ensure that the student attends classes in the following cases:

    if students who have temporarily left the country do not attend classes and have not notified the school within a week of the extension of their stay abroad;

    if the parents have not applied to the director with an indication of the reasons and timing of the child's departure abroad.

    Every year, by May 25, the school principal is required to submit to the district/city Commission on Juvenile Affairs information about students who traveled abroad during the school year without notifying the school and did not attend classes for three or more months (except for those who attended classes before the end of the school year).

    Such students may be excluded from school by decision of the pedagogical council and the Commission on Juvenile Affairs.

    The discussion of the project will last until April 28 this year.
