CIS experts have agreed on a draft Inter-state program of joint measures to combat crime for 2024-2028

    An additional meeting of the expert group to coordinate the draft Interstate program of Joint measures to combat crime for 2024-2028 was held on March 14 at the headquarters of the Commonwealth of Independent States. This is reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

    The meeting was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs and the Bureau for Coordinating the Fight against Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crimes on the Territory of the CIS member States, the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth.

    Opening the meeting, Deputy Secretary General of the CIS Dauren Abayev noted that the draft Intergovernmental Program is aimed at further improving cooperation between CIS states and bodies in the fight against crime. The document provides for further development of legal mechanisms of interaction on combating transnational crime, improvement of the CIS model legislation.

    "Special attention in the project is paid to the issues of conducting coordinated interdepartmental, operational and preventive measures, continuing the practice of participating in joint exercises, trainings, and the exchange of proactive information in the field of combating crime," Dauren Abayev said.

    During the meeting, the participants of the meeting, taking into account the amendments received from the states, finalized the document and completed the procedure for its approval at the expert level.

    It was decided to submit a draft Interstate program of joint measures to combat crime for 2024-2028 in the prescribed manner for consideration at the next meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State.
