During the conversation, the parties confirmed that education is one of the priority areas of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom. The sides exchanged views on further expansion of relations between the two countries, including on the implementation of agreements reached during the visit of British Foreign Minister David Cameron to Tashkent yesterday.
The issues of targeted training of graduates of professional educational institutions of Uzbekistan to send them to the UK for decent and legal work were also discussed.
The Ambassador was pleased to note that the number of Chevening UK educational grants for Uzbekistan has doubled since this year.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue the projects of the British Council to improve the quality of education and the formation of an effective management system, the introduction of the British Pearson educational program in Uzbekistan, as well as the training of specialists and university graduates for their direction to work in the UK.
