Qatari company Al Mirqab Capital intends to launch energy projects in Uzbekistan

    Deputy Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Umid Mamadaminov held an online meeting with the leadership of the Qatari company Al Mirqab Capital.

    Representatives of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade and the Direct Investment Fund of our country also took part in the negotiations organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the Dunyo news agency reports.

    During the meeting, the issues of construction of power plants in the Samarkand region and the Republic of Karakalpakstan with the involvement of direct investments from a Qatari company were discussed in detail.

    As a result of the event, an agreement was reached on the visit of representatives of the Qatari company to Uzbekistan in the second half of February 2024 to begin work on projects proposed by Al Mirqab Capital and sign relevant agreements.

    For reference: Al Mirqab Capital was founded in 1993 and owns 20 large hotel complexes (Four Seasons, The Ritz Carlton, InterContinental and others) in the USA, Europe and the Middle East. Together with the Chinese company "Power China", the company built a thermal power plant with a capacity of 1.3 GW in Pakistan.
