It is noted that in 2024, due to the fall in onion prices in May-June to 500-1000 soums, this year the acreage under onions was reduced: in the Jizzakh region by 5 thousand hectares, in Navoiy - by 6.7 thousand, in Namangan - by 8.4 thousand, in Samarkand - by 14 thousand., in Surkhandarya - by 2.6 thousand, in Syrdarya - by 2.8 thousand, in Tashkent - by 2.6 thousand, in Khorezm - by 7.6 thousand hectares.

The Ministry of Agriculture reminds our compatriots that at the beginning of each season, there is a temporary price increase for the first agricultural products, which soon begins to decrease.
It is no secret that in some regions, farmers, using innovative agrotechnical methods that require additional costs, can grow products 10-15 days earlier than usual and bring them to the market.
This, in turn, creates a special demand for agricultural products and affects the setting of prices in accordance with market principles.
In this regard, the Ministry of Agriculture urges citizens not to trust false information disseminated on social networks, and also appeals to social media activists, bloggers and journalists not to accept unfounded statements as the truth, but to be guided solely by official sources.
