A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Imam Tirmizi Center and the Malaysian Institute of Islamic Civilization

    At the end of September, with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur, a delegation headed by the director of the Malaysian Institute of Islamic Civilization, Fariza Sham, visited Uzbekistan.

    The Institute of Islamic Civilization of Malaysia was established in 2007 as a research institution at the National University of the country. This institution is the leading academic institution in Malaysia and the center for information and analysis of Islamic civilization, the Dunyo news agency reports.

    At the invitation of the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, the Malaysian delegation took part in the international scientific and practical conference "The role of the scientific heritage of Abu Rayhan Beruni in the development of world science", held on the occasion of the 1050th anniversary of the great scientist.

    In her speech at the conference, Fariza Sham spoke about the personality and qualities of Beruni, his contribution to the development of Islamic civilization," he said.

    During the visit, the delegation of Malaysia met with the Acting Director of the International Research Center of Imam Termizi Muzaffarkhan Dzhoniev. A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the parties.

    The corresponding agreement was reached following the results of an online meeting held on June 16 this year. The memorandum provides for practical cooperation between the two institutions in such areas as the study of the heritage of scientists who worked on the land of Uzbekistan, the study of rare resources, advanced training of scientific personnel, conferences and seminars.

    The Imam Termizi Center was established in the city of Termez in Surkhandarya region by the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on February 14, 2017. To date, research and development work has been carried out in cooperation with similar organizations in countries such as the United States, Great Britain, Morocco, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and India.

    Also during the trip of the Malaysian delegation, open classes and lectures were organized by Fariza Sham as a visiting professor at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan and the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.

    In addition, negotiations were held at the Center of Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan, where further plans and issues of holding the fourth international scientific and practical seminar "Great Scientists of Islamic Civilization" in Tashkent in 2024 were discussed.
