    Cooperation between the customs services of Uzbekistan and Malaysia is expanding

    On March 3-4, a delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Chairman of the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance Akmalkhuja Mavlonov visited Malaysia.

    During the visit, the members of the delegation got acquainted with the activities of the customs service at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, on the country's land borders and at seaports, Dunyo news agency reports.

    In particular, the members of the delegation were provided with information on customs control of goods, passengers and their belongings arriving and departing from the country, the state of digitalization of work in this area, the application of the concept of "smart customs", demonstrated the processes of work.

    During the extended talks with the head of the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, Anis Rizana Zainuddin, and the heads of the structures of this institution, the Uzbek side shared information about the ongoing work on reforming the customs service in our country. It was emphasized that due to the purposeful policy of the republic's leadership, the role of Uzbekistan in organizing trade between Asia and Europe is increasing.

    The Malaysian side expressed its readiness to facilitate the simplification of customs mechanisms between the two countries, mutual training of personnel and improvement of customs services in order to increase trade volumes and, ultimately, improve the well-being of the population of both countries.

    Following the talks, an agreement was reached to establish close ties between the Royal Customs Academy of Malaysia and the Customs Institute of Uzbekistan, exchange experience between the customs services of both countries, strengthen the legal framework for cooperation, digitalize the customs service, train personnel, improve staff skills, and further develop mutual cooperation in the field of canine services.

    A special service dog of the Labrador breed, bred at the Tashkent Cynological Center, was donated to the Royal Malaysian Customs Service.

    This visit of the delegation of the Customs Committee was organized as a practical implementation of the agreements reached on February 4-5 during the Uzbek-Malaysian high-level talks.
