The United States is the leader in artificial intelligence (AI), China is second, and the United Kingdom is third. This assessment is provided in the report on the global Artificial Intelligence Innovation Index prepared by the Chinese Institute of Scientific and Technological Information and Peking University.
The report was presented at the World Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Shanghai. The authors studied 46 countries based on five criteria: basic support, resources and environment for development, scientific and technological research and development, industry and the application of innovations, as well as international cooperation and exchanges.
