Azamat Ziyo also visited Beijing and met with the heads of the First Historical Archive of China and the National Library of China.
Wang Hong Yun, head of the First Historical Archive of China (founded in 1925), said that the archive contains more than 10 million documents from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. During the conversation, it also became clear that the Archive contains valuable documents related to embassy and trade relations between the Turkestan khanates and China. More than 80 percent of them have already been digitized.
During the meeting with Zhang Jun, Deputy Director of the National Library of China, the Library's book collection, containing 45 million volumes, was discussed. The library also contains more than 3 million ancient handwritten works, including rare manuscripts in Arabic and Persian. At the same time, these sources have not yet been specifically studied.
The parties agreed to cooperate in the field of historical documents and establish bilateral relations.
