During the conversation, issues of further strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Indonesia, bringing inter-parliamentary cooperation to a new level and expanding multifaceted ties between the two countries were discussed in detail.

One of the main topics of the meeting was the issues of further institutional development of interparliamentary cooperation. In particular, an agreement was reached to intensify the activities of inter-parliamentary cooperation groups, develop joint documents on cooperation, organize inter-parliamentary forums, as well as implement scientific and educational projects dedicated to the study of Islamic civilization and its rich heritage.

Ahmad Muzani highly appreciated the large-scale reforms, creative work, open and constructive foreign policy of the state, as well as efforts to preserve and popularize the heritage of Islamic civilization carried out in the New Uzbekistan.

The historical merit of the great preacher and Sufi scholar Malik Ibrahim Samarqandi, who lived and worked in the late 14th and early 15th centuries, in spreading Islam on the island of Java and in Indonesia as a whole, was also noted. It was emphasized that due to this historical heritage, the Indonesian people treat Uzbekistan with deep respect and sincere reverence.

During the talks, it was noted that the trustful and active political dialogue between the two heads of state had brought trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and interparliamentary cooperation to a qualitatively new level.

The sides exchanged views on such priority areas as speeding up negotiations on a free trade agreement, mutual recognition of halal certificates, and expanding agricultural exports.

They also noted the importance of developing interregional partnership, expanding cooperation in the field of tourism, especially pilgrimage, further simplifying visa procedures, strengthening academic ties between higher educational institutions and consistently continuing joint cultural and humanitarian projects.

Ahmad Muzani left an entry in the Book of Honorary Guests of the Senate, stressing the importance of strengthening bilateral inter-parliamentary relations.
