Uzbekistan and South Korea strengthen cooperation in the field of traditional medicine

    The delegation of the South Korean province of Gyeongsangbuk-do, headed by Vice-Governor Kim Hak Gang, who was in our country on a visit, met with the Governor of the Bukhara region Botir Zaripov.

    Cooperation between the South Korean Daegu Haany University (DHU) and the Bukhara State Medical Institute is of great importance in the development of fruitful relations. Efforts to share knowledge and experience on a bilateral basis make it possible to further enhance the existing potential, the Doone news agency reports.

    According to the current agreement, intensive work is underway to further develop traditional medicine, for this purpose, the construction of "smart" greenhouses is being carried out on the territory of the Bukhara State Medical Institute for the cultivation of medicinal plants, a cluster and a project for the production of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics are being implemented.

    It should be noted that the South Korean university plans to expand cooperation with the Bukhara State Medical Institute to create a research production based on traditional medicine, train Uzbek youth in the field of pharmacy based on traditional medicine, and open the King Sejong Korean University.

    During the dialogue, the relations between the two countries were highly appreciated, tasks within the framework of this project were exchanged, as well as areas that can be implemented in the future in cooperation with the university.

    Botir Zaripov welcomed the guests on a visit to Bukhara and noted that the project planned for implementation will bring cooperation between the Bukhara region and Gyeongsangbukdo province to a new stage, therefore it is important for the development of business representatives of the two regions.

    "This project is one of our steps towards creating a new industrial era in the Bukhara region," the head of the region said. - I am sure that together with our partners we will successfully implement many more major projects that will make a great contribution to the development of our economy and strengthen its competitiveness in the future. This is a practical result of our major reforms in the pharmaceutical sector over the past two years and a clear indication of the growing investor confidence in our country."

    During the conversation, Kim Hak Hong thanked the governor of the region for the warm welcome and cooperation. He also noted that thanks to the ongoing project, cooperation will expand, and the mutually beneficial initiative will give significant results in the development of the field of traditional medicine.

    Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the parties.
