Global aerospace company Embraer has officially announced at the Singapore Airshow that Uzbekistan is a customer of the C-390 Millennium transport aircraft. Earlier, the order was reported without disclosing the buyer's name, according to Embraer's official website.
The aircraft will be used by the country's air force for transport and humanitarian missions, which will significantly expand their operational capabilities. At the same time, Uzbekistan will become the first Central Asian country to begin operating the C-390 Millennium, an aircraft that, according to Embraer representatives, "turns the military transport aviation market upside down."
Built and designed in the 21st century, the C-390 Millennium is one of the most advanced military transport aircraft in its class. It is capable of carrying up to 26 tons of payload, reaching speeds of up to 470 knots and covering long distances compared to other medium-sized military transport aircraft.
The aircraft is designed to perform a wide range of tasks: cargo and personnel transportation, landing of equipment and personnel, medical evacuation, search and rescue operations, fire fighting and humanitarian missions. The C-390 is capable of operating from temporary or unprepared runways.
The configuration of the aircraft with the possibility of installing equipment for aerial refueling (under the designation KC-390) allows it to be used as a tanker and as a fuel receiver. Millennium is fully compatible with the NATO infrastructure and is particularly suitable for operations within the framework of the Agile Combat Employment (ACE) concept.
Today, the C-390 Millennium is already in use by the Air Forces of Brazil, Portugal, Hungary, South Korea, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Slovakia and Lithuania, offering high reliability, versatility and efficiency for tactical and strategic missions.
