Uzbekistan has risen to the 40th place in the Open Data Inventory ranking

    Uzbekistan, according to the Open Data Inventory (ODIN) rating, scored 66 points, rose to 40th place in this rating and retained 1st place in Central Asia.

    In particular, Open Data Inventory (ODIN), which evaluates the coverage and openness of official statistics to identify gaps, promote open data policy, improve access and encourage dialogue between national statistical offices (NSOs) and data users.

    Open Data Watch is an international non-profit organization working at the intersection of open data and official statistics. Their work contributes to the introduction of changes in the production and management of official statistical data. Open Data Watch has created an Open Data Registry (ODIN) to conduct annual assessments of the coverage and openness of official statistics in countries around the world. By monitoring the quality and openness of data, they can help governments, international organizations and citizens solve the problems of measuring and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

    The Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been cooperating with the Open Data Watch organization since 2019 with the support of the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan.

    Uzbekistan in the Open Data Inventory (ODIN) rating:

    • in 2015, out of the estimated 125 countries, he scored 3 points and took the last 125th place;
    • in 2016, out of the estimated 173 countries, he scored 13 points and took 168th place;
    • in 2017, out of the estimated 180 countries, he scored 18 points and took 167th place;
    • in 2018, out of the estimated 178 countries, he scored 19 points and took 168th place;
    • in 2020, out of the estimated 187 countries, he scored 63 points and took 44th place.
    • In 2022, out of the estimated 192 countries, he scored 66 points and rose to 40th place in the world.
