An oriental fruit moth was found in a batch of peaches from Uzbekistan

    Inspectors of the Aktobe regional territorial inspection of the KGI in the agro-industrial complex of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan found a quarantine pest - oriental fruitworm (Grapholita molesta Busck) in a batch of fresh peaches imported from Uzbekistan.

    During the quarantine phytosanitary control at the Central Customs Clearance Point, a batch of fresh peaches weighing 2.58 tons was inspected. The shipment was delivered by road from the Yangiyul district of the Tashkent region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan clarifies.

    Fruit samples were selected and sent for examination to the Aktobe zonal quarantine laboratory, which confirmed the presence of oriental fruitworm, EastFruit reports

    In order to prevent the spread of the quarantine organism, timely measures were taken to isolate and destroy infected products.
