Flag football, cricket, lacrosse, squash and baseball/softball are officially included in the program of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles (California, USA). The relevant proposal of the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) was supported at the organization's session in Mumbai.

The IOC Executive Committee proposed to include new sports on October 13. Of these, the Olympic program previously included cricket, lacrosse and baseball/softball. The first was presented at the 1900 Games in Paris, the second - at the 1904 and 1908 Games, the third was part of them five times - in 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2021, reports TASS.

Flag football, cricket, lacrosse, squash and baseball/softball have joined the 30 main Olympic sports. Boxing can also join them if it manages to overcome the long-term crisis, which this year led to the International Boxing Association (IBA) being deprived of IOC recognition.

The program of the Games in Los Angeles did not include breaking, which will make its debut at the Olympics in Paris in 2024.
