This was announced by the rector of the Italian university, Professor Stefano Ubertini during a meeting with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abat Fayzullayev, at which it was announced that work had begun on fulfilling the terms of the agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan on the establishment of a campus of a joint university on the basis of the Samarkand Institute of Agricultural Innovations and Research.
It was noted that at the new university, students will be able to study at the faculties of Agricultural Sciences and Food Technology under bachelor's degree programs, as well as at the faculties of Agricultural Sciences and Bioeconomics under master's degree programs. In addition, students are expected to study in Italy as part of a joint educational program.
"For the first time in history, the first foreign branch of Tuscia will be opened among Italian universities in the field of agriculture," added the rector of the university.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed interest in continuing the dialogue in order to strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy. The Italian side stressed that the university is happy to share knowledge with Uzbek students about advanced modern technologies and Italy's experience in the agricultural sector.
