Uzbek-Bangladeshi political consultations held in Tashkent

    On June 11, 2024, Tashkent hosted the next round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

    The delegations of the parties were headed by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bahromjon Aloev and First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Masood bin Momen.

    During the talks, the state and prospects for the development of Uzbek-Bangladeshi relations were discussed in detail.

    The parties confirmed their readiness to further strengthen political dialogue and inter-parliamentary ties, expand the legal framework for cooperation, as well as deepen cooperation within international organizations.

    The main attention is paid to the activation of economic diplomacy. An agreement was reached on the development of joint measures to increase the indicators of foreign trade and its diversification, as well as on the implementation of joint investment projects in various sectors of the national economy of Uzbekistan.

    The sides exchanged views on building cultural and humanitarian ties, developing partnerships in the fields of education, digital technologies and tourism.

    Separate aspects of the international and regional agenda were also considered.

    Following the event, a Memorandum on the establishment of cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and the Academy of the Diplomatic Service of Bangladesh was signed, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
