About 120 Uzbek citizens who tried to travel illegally to the United States of America have been returned to their homeland. As reported in the Uzreport TV report published on the Telegram channel of the Agency for External Labor Migration, most of them were going to get to the United States through Mexico.

According to one of the Uzbekistanis returned to his homeland, because of this adventure, all his great hopes and expectations disappeared like smoke. The money he earned for 2-3 years was actually thrown to the wind in just two months.

The journey to Mexico alone took 30 days. And for the crossing to America, he was asked for 5 thousand dollars. On the way, they were stopped by police officers who threatened deportation. "We had to spend $1500-2000 to resolve the issue," the source said.

Another Uzbek man said that he wanted to work as a cook in the United States. But in the end, he spent four months in an American prison. The amount of expenses incurred is also considerable. Regretting his choice of an illegal path, the man is still glad that he returned home to his family.

And one compatriot reported that it is difficult to find a job abroad. There are those who remain without earnings for 3-4 months. She said that raids had begun in America, mainly on arrivals from Central Asian countries.

According to the TV channel, from October 2021 to October 2023, more than 13 thousand Uzbek citizens were detained in the United States for trying to illegally cross the state border.

Earlier, the U.S. Embassy in Uzbekistan warned that citizens illegally entering the United States of America across the border with Mexico would not be allowed into the country. Instead, they will be detained until their immigration case is resolved.
