Uzbekistan has changed the rules for duty-free import of goods by individuals

    Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 244 "On measures to further improve the procedure for moving certain types of goods across the customs border" was adopted on 04/19/2025.

    Starting from May 1, 2025, the following rules are established for duty-free import of goods imported into the republic by individuals for personal needs for non-commercial purposes:

    · by air transport – in the amount of $1,000;

    · by rail and river transport – $500;

    · through automobile (pedestrian) checkpoints – $300;

    · via international courier shipments – $200;

    · via international mail – $100.

    At the same time, the established rules of duty-free importation within one calendar month apply to goods imported by international courier shipments in the name of individuals.

    Quantitative standards for duty-free import of certain goods by individuals have also been approved.:

    · alcoholic beverages (including beer) – up to 2 liters;

    · one of the following types of tobacco products:

    · cigarettes – up to 200 pieces;

    · cigars – up to 5 pieces;

    · tobacco – up to 100 g.

    · perfumes and eau de toilette – up to 3 units (no more than 300 ml);

    Dietary supplements:

    · in liquid state and in syrup form – up to 10 vials;

    · in powder form – up to 0.5 kg;

    · in tablet form – up to 100 pieces;

    · in the form of capsules – up to 100 pieces or up to 4 PET dishes;

    · in dried form – up to 0.5 kg.

    In addition, the norms of duty-free export of certain types of goods by individuals from the republic have been approved.:

    · rice – no more than 3 kg;

    · bakery products – no more than 5 kg;

    · meat and meat products – no more than 2 kg;

    · sugar – no more than 2 kg;

    · vegetable oil – no more than 2 liters;

    · fresh fruit and vegetable products, grapes, melons, legumes and dried vegetables and fruits – no more than 40 kg.

    If a person importing goods for non–commercial purposes by rail and river transport, as well as through automobile checkpoints, stays in a foreign country for less than 2 calendar days, and by air for less than 3 calendar days, the duty-free import rules do not apply. At the same time, these goods are considered as exceeding the duty-free import standards and a single customs payment is charged from the full value of the goods.

    Goods worth up to the equivalent of $5,000 may be exported by individuals from the republic without submitting a customs declaration, with the exception of goods for which export customs duties are established by law.
