It is noted that consistent reforms are being carried out in the country aimed at strengthening the guarantees of the rights of persons with disabilities and creating the necessary conditions for their participation in all spheres of public life.

This draft law, in order to prevent discrimination against persons with disabilities, amends the Law "On Rent", providing for the cancellation of the grounds for termination of the lease agreement in case of disability of the tenant, as well as bringing some of the concepts used in the Law into line with the current legislative acts.

Amendments are also being made to the Law "On State Pension Provision of Citizens". Thus, it is envisaged to increase the period for receiving accrued pensions, but not in demand by pensioners, twice, that is, from twelve months to twenty-four months. In addition, the procedure for increasing the size of pensions is established, taking into account the growth rate of the consumer price index for goods and services during the year, as well as the requirement to account for the period of activity carried out by convicts during the period of imprisonment as a type of activity that entitles them to receive a pension.

During the preparation of the bill for the second reading, based on the essence and meaning of the bill, editorial changes were made.

According to the deputies, the adoption of the bill will serve to increase the material well-being of pensioners, as well as further strengthen the rights of persons with disabilities in rental relations.
