The President of the country signed the Law "On Amendments and additions to some legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan" (Law No. 7 59 dated 03/14/2022).

Due to the fact that ID cards are introduced by Law instead of biometric passports, the concept of ID cards has been introduced into some codes and laws.

Responsibility is also established for the loss of ID cards, biometric passports for traveling abroad, for bringing them into disrepair.

The Family Code establishes that the registration of the birth of children is carried out within 1 month in the civil registry offices, regardless of the place of permanent residence or temporary stay of the parents.

The rule that a mark on marriage registration is made on identity documents is excluded.

When withdrawing a land plot for state or public needs, the difference is not reimbursed by citizens if the housing provided to citizens is more expensive than the previous one. Previously, this difference had to be returned within 5 years.

The state fee for the issuance of a biometric passport for traveling abroad to a person included in the Unified Register of Social Protection, as well as to an accompanying person, for the provision of specialized medical care or surgical surgery in a foreign country, is not charged.

A fee of 89 percent of the BRV is charged for issuing an ID card, and a fee of 1 BRV is charged for issuing a biometric passport for traveling abroad (previously it was 1.2 BRV), according to the Ministry of Justice.
