In Uzbekistan, it was forbidden to involve a teacher in work unrelated to his professional activity

    The President of Uzbekistan signed the Law "On the status of a teacher" (Law No. 901 dated 02/01/2024), which defines the rights, duties and basic guarantees of activity, as well as the principles of remuneration, remuneration and social protection.

    The rights, honor, dignity and business reputation of a teacher are protected by the state.

    An experienced teacher is assigned to a person who has started professional activity for the first time in a general secondary educational organization for the period of one academic year to carry out mentoring.

    According to the Law, the following is prohibited, among other things:

    involvement of a teacher in work unrelated to his professional activity, including landscaping and agricultural work;

    the requirement from the teacher to form and provide reports and other information not related to his professional duties, including reports on the employment of graduates;

    forcing a teacher to purchase goods and services, including withholding funds for goods and services from the teacher's salary without his written consent.

    This Law comes into force from the date of its official publication, the Ministry of Justice informs.
