The technical mission of the World Bank has been completed in Uzbekistan as part of the preparation of a joint project in the field of social protection

    From October 16 to 19 of this year, a team of World Bank experts was in Uzbekistan to study the field of rehabilitation services for people with disabilities.

    During the visit, representatives of the mission together with specialists of the National Agency for Social Protection visited the National Center for Rehabilitation and Prosthetics of Persons with Disabilities, the Tashkent Medical Academy, held meetings with the Ministry of Health.

    A number of active discussions took place with the relevant departments of the Agency on the issues of the assessment system for persons with disabilities, provision of assistive technologies, provision of rehabilitation and social adaptation services for persons with disabilities.

    The World Bank team was in Uzbekistan as a mission to support the implementation and technical assistance in the preparation of a joint project to create an innovative social protection system to ensure the inclusion of representatives of vulnerable categories of the population. Meetings were also held within the framework of the mission to improve the monitoring system for child protection.

    At the end of the visit, the parties discussed a draft Action Plan prepared by representatives of the World Bank to improve support for persons with disabilities.
