    According to the TV channel, the incident occurred during an engine test that took place at the Tanegashima cosmodrome (Kagoshima Prefecture). No injuries have been reported at the moment, a slight smoke can be seen on the footage from the camera installed at the cosmodrome.

    The solid-fuel three-stage rocket of the Epsilon series was developed by the Japanese Aerospace Agency (JAXA) in cooperation with the Japanese aircraft corporation IHI. Japan has been using such rockets since 2013 to launch small satellites, the Epsilon S is its latest modification.
