Japanese Kairos-2 rocket launched from a private spaceport

The private Japanese Kairos-2 rocket of Space One company, the launch of which was repeatedly postponed due to weather conditions, launched from the private Spaceport Kii cosmodrome in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan, broadcast on the YouTube channel.

Kairos is a small solid-fuel rocket with a length of 18 meters and a weight of 23 tons. There are five small satellites on board the rocket, which are planned to be separated 50 minutes after launch at an altitude of about 500 kilometers and put into orbit.

If the satellites are successfully launched and placed into a given orbit, this will be the first successful satellite launch in the country exclusively by private business.

The first launch of the Kairos rocket was scheduled for March 9, but after the final countdown, the rocket did not fly. After 15 minutes, another attempt was made, but even then the rocket did not budge, after which the launch was postponed to March 13. During the re-launch on March 13, the rocket exploded in the air a few seconds after launch, reports ria.ru.
