Japan will provide a loan to Uzbekistan for 245 million dollars

    The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JBIC) has signed a loan agreement with Uzbekistan to provide a loan of up to $245 million for a program to support a sustainable economy and social development. This is reported by the press service of the agency.

    This loan will support Uzbekistan's economic reforms with the transition to a market economy, enhance social integration and stability, including protection of vulnerable segments of the population.

    The annual interest rate is 1.8%, the repayment period is 30 years with a grace period of 10 years. The project is scheduled to be completed in March 2024.
