Cooperation with the OSCE is being intensified

    On November 9, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with a delegation consisting of the heads of diplomatic missions of Great Britain, Germany, the USA and France to the OSCE.

    During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the ongoing reforms and democratic processes in our country in the field of ensuring human rights, gender equality and freedom of the media.

    The issues of Uzbekistan's cooperation with the OSCE, work on the implementation of the organization's projects in our country were also discussed.

    It was emphasized that in recent years, the interaction of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan with the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has significantly intensified, relations have reached a qualitatively new level.

    It was noted that there is a huge untapped potential for cooperation with the OSCE in the economic and environmental spheres, and therefore it is necessary to implement new projects.

    The guests were also informed about the progress of constitutional reforms currently being carried out in Uzbekistan, taking into account the opinions and proposals of the general public based on the idea of "Society is the initiator of reforms".

    There was also an exchange of views on the effective organization of the autumn session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which will be held in Uzbekistan next year for the first time in history.

    Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on further strengthening cooperation on the implementation of the planned plans and projects, the information service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
