The European Union, together with the FOCUS School of Cinema and Theater, launched a project in Uzbekistan to teach teenagers cinematography

    A specially designed free educational module for teenagers is aimed at improving the quality of education in the field of cinema and theater among the younger generation of Uzbekistan.

    As part of the events of the European Film Festival 2023, the European Union, together with the FOCUS School of Cinema and Theater, launched the EU-FOCUS FILM CAMP project. A specially designed free educational module for teenagers is funded by the European Union. It combines classes on such topics as feature and documentary films, animation, directing, photography, painting, music, film history, drama, theater, producing, cinematography, filmmaking, literature, teamwork, sound engineering, journalism, editing, etc.

    The aim of the project is to improve the quality of education in the field of cinema and theater among the younger generation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

    The free educational course started this summer on a daily basis and continues now - in the fall, on weekends. In addition to theoretical classes in workshops, auditoriums and open-air, the program includes film screenings, meetings with domestic and foreign specialists, as well as the practice of laboratory filming on location.

    Teenagers from 10 to 16 years old who successfully completed the program of the Sunday Film School and the summer film camp of the FOCUS School of Cinema and Theater from 2021 to 2023 inclusive were selected for the group.

    Since the project is included in the system of the aggregator of small grants of the International Creative Laboratory FOCUS GRAVITY HUB, children who have successfully completed the program will be able to continue their studies at the FOCUS School of Cinema and Theater on a free basis and after the end of the project.
