The leadership of the ASR of Uzbekistan met with the head of the delegation of the European Union

    The leadership of the Agency for Strategic Reforms (ASR) met with the head of the European Union delegation to Uzbekistan, Charlotte Adrian.

    The main topics of the conversation were the priority areas of the ASR's activities for 2024, including the implementation of strategic reforms in accordance with Presidential Decree No. PP–109 dated March 4 of this year, as well as regional development programs.

    Charlotte Adrian highly appreciated the wide range of measures provided for by this decree and expressed the EU's readiness to provide expert advisory support at every stage of the implementation of the plans.

    The European side was informed about the direct study by the ASR with field visits to a number of districts and cities of the republic to identify untapped reserves and new points of economic growth, taking into account the comparative advantages of each region. The draft Presidential decree developed by the Agency was also discussed, including the creation of a new regional development management system.

    At the same time, the European side expressed its readiness to assume the function of the secretariat of the "Country Platform" in 2024, which was created for effective interaction with bilateral and multilateral partners providing financial and advisory and technical assistance to industry departments.
