The UN General Assembly adopted the first resolution on the regulation of artificial intelligence

    The UN General Assembly unanimously adopted a 13-point resolution developed by the United States, in collaboration with more than 100 countries, aimed at regulating and ensuring security in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).

    Among the co-authors are Brazil, Great Britain, Germany, Israel, Spain, China, UAE, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia.

    This historic agreement reflects the shared responsibility and collective destiny of the global community. The main points of the resolution include:

    • The need to ensure equal and equitable access to the benefits of digital transformation for all countries, including developing countries;
    • The use of AI should not contradict the world or suppress basic human rights;
    • Countries and companies should pay special attention to the prevention of bias and discrimination in AI systems;
    • innovation and regulation in the field of AI must complement each other in order to ensure the effective and safe development of AI.

    The authors of the document propose to implement measures to respect intellectual property rights, ensure confidentiality and protection of personal data, as well as transparency, predictability, reliability of artificial intelligence systems throughout their entire life cycle.

    The resolution calls for ensuring that all automated solutions and related processes are under human supervision.

    Uzbekistan's participation in supporting this resolution is a manifestation of its commitment to ensuring the safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence for the entire world community.
