The first pilgrims flew from Tashkent to Medina to perform the Hajj of the 2024 season

    On the night of May 22-23, the first flight of Uzbekistan Airways with 240 pilgrims on board took off from Tashkent to Medina (Saudi Arabia) and thus opened the Hajj season 2024.

    According to the press service of Uzbekistan Airports, flights from 10 cities of Uzbekistan will be operated to Medina from May 23 to June 7.

    This year, the largest number of pilgrims will go on Hajj from Tashkent - 24 flights will carry 5,830 passengers. 14 flights will depart from Namangan, 6 from Fergana, 4 from Samarkand, 3 flights each from Bukhara, Karshi and Termez, 2 flights from Urgench and Navoi, as well as 1 flight with pilgrims will depart from Nukus. A total of 15,130 pilgrims from Uzbekistan will perform the Hajj.

    Every year, the Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan recommends that relatives of pilgrims do not come to the airport to avoid collapse in the terminal and on the forecourt, but accompany their relatives to mosques.

    Pilgrims will arrive at the airport in an organized manner on special buses, also check in in an organized manner and proceed to the departure area, where a sufficient number of seats are installed, and drinks and snacks will be offered to pilgrims while waiting for boarding.
