How will the Day of Remembrance and Honors be celebrated in Uzbekistan?

    The Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures for the preparation and holding of May 9 - the Day of Remembrance and Honors" dated 05.05.2023 No. PP-143 was adopted.

    In order to widely celebrate the Day of Remembrance and Honors, to show high respect for war and labor veterans who made a worthy contribution to the Victory in World War II, to perpetuate the memory of servicemen and law enforcement officers who died during the years of independence, the Program and composition of the Working Group for the preparation and holding of events dedicated to May 9 have been approved.

    The events will be held under the motto "The Motherland will not forget its selfless sons and daughters."

    The Working Group was instructed to:

    • take measures to repair and improve the places of residence of lonely and low-income participants of the Second World War;
    • to provide material assistance and moral support to every veteran of the Second World War and the labor Front, family members of military personnel and law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty during the years of independence;
    • to organize a patronage service in order to provide medical and social services, allocate the necessary medicines, care for participants of the Second World War with the consolidation (on a contractual basis) of medical workers;
    • to provide free referral to a sanatorium on the territory of the republic of veterans of the war and the labor front of 1941-1945 at their request with one accompanying person.
