On June 3 of this year, a visiting meeting of the National Council for Combating Corruption was held under the chairmanship of the head of the Senate, Tanzila Narbayeva, during which cases of corruption in the school and preschool education system, ongoing work to prevent them and existing problems were discussed.

It was noted at the meeting that the main goal is not to identify shortcomings, but to jointly find solutions to them. Therefore, a working group consisting of representatives of relevant Senate committees and departments, together with the Ministry, comprehensively studied the situation.

As part of the ongoing work in the field of education, a number of programs have been adopted under the "Sphere without Corruption" project. At the same time, 79 normative legal acts on pre-school and school education passed the anti-corruption expertise.

Also, in order to reduce the risk of corruption, a number of public services have been introduced in electronic form. In particular, services such as the admission of a child to a preschool educational institution, admission to the 1st grade, certification of teaching staff, licensing, and apostille affixing have been digitized. This, in turn, serves to create convenience and transparency for citizens.

It was emphasized at the meeting that the number of documents required to obtain certain services in the education system has been reduced, and processes have been simplified, which is a practical result of the work aimed at reducing the risk of corruption.

It was informed about the development of a special anti-corruption training program for pupils of schools and kindergartens in order to create an intolerant environment for corruption among young people. At the same time, the importance of introducing honesty education in schools and kindergartens within the framework of the GRACE program was emphasized.

The Chairman of the Senate noted that "the education of a generation vaccinated with the "vaccine of honesty" should be one of the priorities of the education system." To do this, it is necessary to systematically train not only students, but also teachers and educators themselves, and improve their skills.

Following the meeting, specific instructions were given to further intensify measures to combat corruption in the education system, fully digitalize recruitment processes, ensure transparency in public procurement, and strengthen the internal control system.
