Abuse of state symbols entails criminal liability

    According to the legislation, designations representing the image of state symbols cannot be used for commercial purposes to promote manufactured or sold goods (works, services).

    Violation of the legislation on the National Flag, coat of arms or anthem entails the imposition of a fine:

    - for citizens up to three BRV (up to 900 thousand soums), and for officials - from three to seven BRV (from 900 thousand soums to 2.1 million soums).

    The same offense, committed repeatedly, entails the imposition of a fine:

    - for citizens from three to five BRV (from 900 thousand soums to 1.5 million soums), for officials - from seven to ten BRV (from 2.1 million sumo to 3 million soums).

    Also, abuse of the National flag, coat of arms or anthem is punished:

    a fine of up to 25 BRV (up to 7.5 million soums) or compulsory community service for up to 360 hours or correctional labor for up to 3 years, the Ministry of Justice reports.
