The participants discussed the issues of eliminating child labor, ensuring their rights, widespread implementation of decent work principles and strengthening international cooperation in this area.

During the event, among the 187 participating countries of the International Labor Conference, the delegation of Uzbekistan presented the results of the reforms implemented in the fields of labor, social protection and education. The almost complete eradication of child labor in our country is recognized by the international community as a result of government policy, a strong social protection system and international cooperation.

Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Chairman of the National Commission on Combating Human Trafficking and Decent Work Tanzila Narbayeva stressed in her speech that the eradication of child labor can be achieved not only by legal prohibitions, but also by eliminating its main causes, such as poverty and the need for social protection, as well as expanding access to quality education and decent work.

It was noted that thanks to the firm political will of the country's leadership, consistent reforms and effective international cooperation, child labor has been practically eradicated in Uzbekistan and sustainable mechanisms have been established to prevent its recurrence.

It was also emphasized that close cooperation with the International Labour Organization, employers' and trade union organizations, and consistent implementation of ILO recommendations are important in achieving these results.

The participants of the event drew attention to the fact that today factors such as conflicts, migration processes, climate change and informal employment increase the risk of child labor.

In this regard, they stressed the importance of implementing the Marrakesh Global Framework for Action and noted the need to step up practical steps to eliminate child labour.
