President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has arrived on a working visit to Kazakhstan’s Astana.
Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov and other officials met the President of Uzbekistan at the airport.
Today, Astana will host the first “Central Asia – European Union” Summit, the agenda of which includes issues of enhancing political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the countries of the region and the European Union.
During his visit to the social services center in Andijan region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on the development of the sports sector and the promotion of the Olympic movement.
Andijan is the most densely populated city in the country, with 10 percent of Uzbekistan’s population residing on just 1 percent of its territory. On the President’s initiative, the construction of a new city was launched in 2021. During his current visit, the Head of state reviewed the initial outcomes of this large-scale project.
