The Chairman of the Senate discussed interparliamentary relations of cooperation with the Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic

    During her working visit to Bishkek, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva, held a meeting with the Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Nurlanbek Shakiyev.

    At the beginning of the conversation, attention was focused on the current high level of close neighborly, time-tested fraternal relations of strategic partnership between the two states. At the same time, it was emphasized that an important foundation is the firm political will, open and friendly relations between the Presidents of the two countries based on mutual trust.

    During the meeting, issues of further development of cooperation between the parliaments were discussed.

    Thus, an exchange of views took place on the intensification of the work of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, assistance in ensuring the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level using the institute of parliamentary control.

    In addition, proposals were put forward to ensure the active participation of local deputies in the activities of the Council of Heads of the Border Regions of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, and to further improve the effectiveness of cooperation.

    At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to further expand cooperation within the framework of international interparliamentary structures.
