In her speech, the Chairman of the Senate noted that in Uzbekistan the interests of women have been elevated to the rank of state policy, and focused on the comprehensive program being implemented to expand women's participation in all spheres of life.
The practical results achieved in this direction attracted the special attention of the forum participants.
Thus, it was noted that over the past 7 years, the number of women in leadership positions in the country has increased from 27% to 35%, and in parliamentary activity - to 32%, which corresponds to the recommendations of the United Nations.
In addition, the reforms carried out, the great achievements of Uzbekistan in ensuring gender equality this year were highly appreciated at the international level, in the World Bank report "Women, Business and the Law", and it was recognized that Uzbekistan is a model for other countries.
