The parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan took part in the 57th session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly

    The parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva took part in the 57th session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in St. Petersburg.

    Tanzila Narbayeva put forward initiatives developed by Uzbekistan in her speech.

    During the session, the parliamentarians considered the role of the Institute for international observation of electoral processes in the development of democracy. It was noted that today the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly plays an important role in promoting democratic principles, developing parliamentarism and civil society institutions, and strengthening solidarity between our peoples.

    To date, the Assembly's observation missions have participated in monitoring more than 100 election campaigns. Members of the Parliament of Uzbekistan are also actively involved in their composition. The participants highlighted the activities of the Advisory Council of Heads of Electoral Bodies, established on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

    At the meeting, members of the parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan supported the model laws and recommendations of the Assembly, which serve to strengthen multilateral cooperation and reflect legislative initiatives and serve the interests of Uzbekistan.
