The guests took part in the opening ceremony of the international conference on the theme "Confucius Institutes and Education among Civilizations", organized in connection with the 20th anniversary of the founding of this educational institution.
The event was attended by representatives of various government and educational institutions of Central Asian countries, as well as experts and scientists in the field of Chinese studies and international relations.
In her speech, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis emphasized that every step in the development of bilateral relations in the field of education and science, in the cultural and humanitarian sphere is important in strengthening friendship between our peoples.
In turn, Zhao Leji stressed that the Confucius Institute in Tashkent is one of the first institutions established in the world, and noted that cooperation between China and Uzbekistan is based on trusting and proven friendly relations over the years.
During the event, the Chinese delegation got acquainted with an exhibition dedicated to the achievements of the Confucius Institute over the past 20 years.
