A meeting of the co-chairs of the Commission on Interparliamentary Cooperation of the upper chambers of the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan took place

    Yesterday, a meeting of the co-chairs of the Commission on Interparliamentary Cooperation of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan S. Safayev and J. Asanova.

    During the meeting, the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, priority areas of cooperation in the context of the visit of President of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev to Kazakhstan on August 7-8 were discussed.

    The main attention is paid to the priority tasks facing the Commission and the mechanisms of joint parliamentary control over the implementation of bilateral agreements at the highest level.

    The need for regular meetings of the Commission to discuss issues of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, strengthening regional ties, parliamentary support for joint investment projects and solving the problems of the Aral Sea region was noted.

    Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the development and adoption of a new roadmap for 2025-2026. Its discussion is scheduled at the next meeting of the Commission on Interparliamentary Cooperation.
