Uzbekistan - Belarus: new opportunities for cooperation in traditional textile industry markets

    On February 7 this year, as part of the visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus to Uzbekistan, the Second Forum of the regions of Uzbekistan and Belarus was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Ministers of both countries.

    At a significant event for both countries, an agreement on a joint roadmap for cooperation for 2024-2025 was signed between the Uztextilprom Association and the Bellegprom concern.

    This Agreement, aimed at creating optimal conditions for the development of the textile, clothing and knitwear industries in Uzbekistan and Belarus, also provides for close cooperation in the field of personnel exchange, training and ensuring decent working conditions for industry workers.

    The forum was attended by large Belarusian companies such as Mogotex, Polesie, Svitanak, Kamvol and others, among Uzbek textile workers, who expressed their readiness for further cooperation with Uzbek partners.

    During the B2B negotiations, a number of export contracts worth a total of $ 7.6 million were successfully concluded, which indicates the prospects and fruitfulness of cooperation between textile enterprises of Uzbekistan and Belarus.

    This forum was an important step towards strengthening friendly relations and developing mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in the textile industry.
