Uzbekistan - Belarus: further development of inter-parliamentary relations

    On August 27, 2024, Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Nuriddin Ismailov met with members of the delegation headed by Natalia Kochanova, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.

    During the dialogue, it was noted that thanks to the strong political will of the leaders of the two countries, the multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Belarus have been raised to a new, higher quality level, mutual trade indicators are growing, and cooperation projects are being implemented in various sectors of the economy.

    At the meeting, the delegation members were provided with detailed information on the priorities identified in the Strategy "Uzbekistan - 2030", the reforms implemented within its framework in the country, efforts to implement the norms of the new version of the Constitution, as well as the main activities of the Legislative Chamber.

    During the meeting, held in the spirit of mutual trust, issues of expanding interparliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus, exchanging experience in the field of norm-setting, and intensifying dialogues on cultural and humanitarian exchange were discussed.

    In turn, N. Kochanova noted that the large-scale reforms implemented in all spheres of Uzbekistan are yielding significant results, highly appreciated the ongoing work to support and increase the activity of women in all spheres of economic, political and social life of the country.

    It was also noted that further expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation, which is an important factor in the development of bilateral relations, and bringing it to a new qualitative level is mutually beneficial in all senses.

    The meeting, held in a sincere and friendly atmosphere, identified promising areas for the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
